The next Dracula's Ball event takes place on Saturday, July 23rd, 2011 and includes live performances by Dismantled and Platform One as well as DJs Steve Archer (of Ego Likeness) and Kangal. 3 dancefloors of non-stop music!
Tickets are $16 in advance. All ages are welcome. If you want to drink alcohol, you must be 21+ w/photo ID. Admission at the door will be $18. Tickets go on sale Saturday, June 18th.
Advance tickets can be purchased *in person* from Ticketmaster or Digital Ferret, or *online* from Ticketmaster or IsoTank (IsoTank now ships tickets by US Mail which is much less expensive). Those with advance tickets are admitted first, before those paying at the door.
Dracula's Ball takes place at Shampoo Nightclub in Philadelphia, on Willow Street between 7th and 8th Streets. The club has a large enclosed parking lot which is free, but it does fill up early during Ball events. Doors open at 9pm and the event ends at 2am. The next Dracula's Ball event takes place on Saturday, October 30th and includes live performances by Seraphim Shock and Celldweller as well as three DJs spinning in three separate rooms. All ages are welcome. If you want to drink alcohol, you must be 21+ w/photo ID. Tickets are $16 and are on sale now at Ticketmaster (in person or online), IsoTank.com and Digital Ferret CDs. Our Halloween event has sold out for many years running.... As such, we recommend advance tickets in the strongest possible terms. Every year we turn away several hundred people who want to attend but did not purchase tickets.
Costumes are encouraged but not required. Although this is our Halloween event, please note that it takes place on Saturday the 30th of October. Of course, a few hours after we open, midnight will roll around and we'll kick off the official start of Halloween!

The veteran post-Soviet underground band Umka & Bronevik (or simply Bro) plays the release shows to present their first LP, "The Closer Sessions". Recorded at San Francisco's Closer Studios in May 2009, this limited edition LP features striking new versions of 10 songs spanning two decades.
Anna "Umka" Gerasimova is one of the main personalities of the Soviet/post-Soviet musical underground. She started writing songs in the 80's. After some early homemade recordings she took a break to finish her PhD in early Soviet avant-garde poetry. Meanwhile, Umka's bootleg tapes spread widely, and upon returning back to music career, in 1995, she found herself an instant unofficial celebrity. She put together a rock group and since then never stopped touring around Russia, former Soviets and abroad. Their list of influences include the Rolling Stones, Grateful Dead, Iggy Pop, Bob Dylan. Umka and Bro have released nearly 20 CDs, but being hardcore 60s-70s fans, they always wanted to go vinyl. In May 2009, they did it - in the heart if the 60s, San Francisco, in a studio called Closer Recordings. Now, touring in the US for the 8th time, they play the release shows to present their LP, released by a small new independent label Portofranco Records.
